Challenge
Rice is the most consumed food on earth. And somehow, nobody has ever built a brand around it that actually means something. It gets bulk bags and supermarket shelves. No story, no origin, no craft. I wanted to change that, starting with the rice I grew up eating.
Solution
My earliest memory is rice. Growing up in Kolkata it was just always there, every meal, every occasion, every table. I named the brand Staple because that's what rice is. That's what it was to me. The logotype I made physically, spelling the word out with actual rice grains, photographing it, tracing it. Three varieties, three regions across India, each with its own farm and its own story printed on the pack. A brand that treats rice the way rice deserves to be treated.
